This page brings together important information about using the City Odyssey website, app and walking adventures. City Odyssey is operated by Reka Fasi, trading as City Odyssey, in Scotland, United Kingdom.
Privacy Notice
Our Privacy Notice explains what personal information City Odyssey collects, why we use it, who it may be shared with, how long it is retained and the rights available to you.
Terms of Use
Our Terms of Use govern your City Odyssey account, purchases, access to adventures, acceptable use of the app, intellectual property, walking-tour safety and other important conditions.
Delete Your Account and Data
You can delete your City Odyssey account from within the app:

Sign in to your City Odyssey account.

Open Your Account.
-
Select Delete Account.
-
Review the warning and confirm that you wish to proceed.

You may be asked to sign in again before deletion can be completed. This is a security requirement.
Deleting your account removes the City Odyssey account used to associate your progress and adventure entitlements with you. It may therefore affect our ability to restore an adventure to a replacement City Odyssey account. Purchases made through Apple or Google remain subject to the relevant store’s records, restoration functionality and applicable rules. Account deletion does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
The in-app deletion process deletes your Firebase Authentication account and active Firestore user record and the progress or other personal data associated with that account. Email deletion requests are normally completed within 30 days after any necessary identity verification. We will confirm when an email-requested deletion has been completed.
Deleting your account may remove the association between your account and its purchased adventures and may affect your ability to restore or access purchases across devices or platforms. Account deletion does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Some information may not be deleted at the same time, including:

purchase and transaction information held by Apple, Google or another payment provider;
-
records that we must retain to meet legal, tax, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution obligations;
-
support, enquiry and feedback records that may lawfully be retained for the limited periods and purposes explained in our Privacy Notice, including records required to resolve an outstanding request; and
-
residual copies held temporarily in secure service-provider backups.
Users can request that some or all of their data is deleted, without requiring them to delete their account. Please email info@gocityodyssey.com from the email address associated with your account to request this. Use the subject line: "City Odyssey data deletion request". We may need to verify your identity before acting on an email request. We will never ask you to provide your password.
If you cannot access the app, you may request account and data deletion by emailing info@gocityodyssey.com from the email address associated with your account.

Cookies and the City Odyssey Website
The City Odyssey website is built and hosted using Wix. Wix uses essential cookies and similar technologies required to operate, secure and maintain the website.
These essential technologies may be used for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, network management, consent management, session stability and core website functions. Because they are necessary for the website to operate, they cannot normally be disabled through our cookie controls.
With your consent, Wix Analytics and other non-essential technologies may also be used to help us understand how visitors use the website and improve its performance. Non-essential cookies will not be activated unless you make the relevant choice through our cookie controls, where consent is required. You can accept, reject or change your non-essential cookie choices through the Privacy Settings link displayed on the website. You can also remove or block cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the website from working properly.
The technologies used may change if we add new website features, integrations or third-party services. We will update this information and request consent where required.
Website Forms and Enquiries
The City Odyssey website uses Wix Forms for contact and enquiry submissions.
Our forms are designed to request only the information reasonably necessary to understand and respond to your message. Please do not include passwords, complete payment-card details, health information or other unnecessary sensitive information. Form submissions are accessed only for appropriate business purposes and are retained and deleted in accordance with the City Odyssey Privacy Notice.
Accessibility and Route Information
We want City Odyssey to be as enjoyable and usable as reasonably possible. The app currently includes features such as:

adjustable text sizing;
-
light and dark appearance options; and
-
written instructions that can be read at the user’s own pace.
City Odyssey is a small, independent service and not every route, location or puzzle format will be accessible to every person. Our walking adventures may involve:
-
steps and steep streets;
-
cobbled, narrow or uneven surfaces;
-
road crossings and busy pedestrian areas;
-
slopes and changes in ground level;
-
extended periods of walking or standing;
-
poor weather and limited daylight; and
-
locations whose access conditions can change without notice.
The Edinburgh adventure is not currently suitable as a fully wheelchair-accessible route.
We aim to describe known route limitations before purchase or before an adventure begins. However, temporary closures, construction work, local events and changing access conditions may affect the route.
We welcome requests for reasonable adjustments and will consider what assistance or alternative information we can reasonably provide. Please contact us before purchasing if you need specific accessibility information. We cannot guarantee that an adjustment will make every physical route accessible.

Safety Information
City Odyssey adventures take place in real public environments. Your safety remains more important than following the story or completing a clue. While participating:

remain aware of traffic, cyclists, other pedestrians and your surroundings;

stop walking before reading or interacting with your phone;
-
never use your phone while crossing a road;
-
follow road rules, local signs and instructions from authorities;
-
remain in public areas and do not enter private, closed or restricted property;
-
wear suitable footwear and clothing;
-
consider the weather, daylight and your own health and mobility;
-
ensure that any participant aged 16–17 remains accompanied and appropriately supervised by the adult account holder;
-
pause, change or abandon the route if conditions feel unsafe; and
-
do not participate while impaired by alcohol, drugs, exhaustion or anything else that could affect your judgement.
You are welcome to complete the experience at your own pace and take breaks for food, coffee or refreshments. Any businesses or venues you choose to visit are independent third parties. City Odyssey does not operate or control these businesses or venues and is not responsible for their independent acts or omissions, except where City Odyssey has legal responsibility.
City Odyssey supplies written route guidance, not live GPS navigation. Routes, crossings, access restrictions, opening hours and local conditions can change without notice. Always follow the real conditions and official signage in front of you rather than an instruction in the app.
In an emergency, stop the adventure and contact the appropriate local emergency service. In the United Kingdom, call 999 or 112. City Odyssey is not an emergency service.
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful.
Historical Notes and Creative Licence
City Odyssey adventures are inspired by real people, places and events researched using historical records, archives and other available sources. However, each adventure is an interactive story—not an academic lecture or definitive historical account.
To turn history into a mystery that can be experienced and solved on foot, we may:

compress or rearrange timelines;
-
invent or reconstruct dialogue;
-
combine, adapt or fictionalise characters;
-
interpret uncertain or incomplete evidence; and
-
take other reasonable creative liberties for narrative effect.
Where possible, we aim to remain faithful to the broader historical setting and known events. Nevertheless, fictionalisation, interpretation, omissions and inconsistencies may be present. Real historical people may be portrayed through dramatic or fictional interpretation. City Odyssey content is provided primarily for entertainment and should not be relied upon as an academic, legal or authoritative historical source. No living person is intentionally portrayed as a historical character unless expressly stated.

Content Notices
City Odyssey adventures draw upon real history, which can include difficult events and attitudes. Depending on the adventure, content may include references to:

crime and criminal behaviour;

death, execution or violence;
-
imprisonment and punishment;
-
alcohol;
-
discrimination or inequality;
-
historic views concerning class, gender and justice; and
-
other attitudes that would not be considered acceptable today.
Such material is presented as part of historical or fictional storytelling and not as an endorsement of those attitudes or actions. Where an adventure contains material requiring a more specific warning, appropriate content information will be displayed before purchase and, where appropriate, again before the adventure begins.
City Odyssey is designed and primarily intended for adults. Only people aged 18 or over may create a City Odyssey account or make a purchase.
Young people aged 16–17 may participate as part of a family group only when accompanied and supervised by an adult family member or guardian who is the City Odyssey account holder. The adult account holder must review the relevant content information and physical route requirements and decide whether the experience is suitable for the young person.
City Odyssey is not intended for children under 16.
Credits and Licences
Unless otherwise stated, the stories, puzzles, branding, interface designs and other original City Odyssey materials are owned by or licensed to Reka Fasi trading as City Odyssey. Some content and design work has been created with the assistance of generative artificial-intelligence tools. All final materials are selected, edited and arranged as part of the City Odyssey experience.
The app and website may also use:

fonts, components or templates supplied through Wix or FlutterFlow;
-
software libraries and platform components;
-
services supplied by Apple, Google, Firebase, FlutterFlow, Wix and RevenueCat; and
-
other materials used under their applicable terms or licences.
Ownership of third-party names, trademarks, software and materials remains with their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship or endorsement unless expressly stated. City Odyssey content is licensed to users for personal, non-commercial use only. It may not be copied, redistributed, sold, adapted or used commercially without written permission.
Limited screenshots or short quotations may be shared for genuine reviews or personal social-media commentary, provided that they:

do not reveal substantial puzzles, solutions or story spoilers;

do not reproduce a substantial part of an adventure;

are not used commercially;
-
credit City Odyssey; and
-
are otherwise lawful and fair.

Information for Families and Younger Participants
City Odyssey accounts are only available to people aged 18 or over.
If you are aged 16–17, you may take part in a City Odyssey adventure only with an accompanying adult family member or guardian who holds the account and supervises your participation. You must not create your own account or make a purchase. The adult should retain control of the account and its sign-in details. Account information—including the email address, display name, purchases, progress and preferences—should relate to the adult account holder rather than the younger participant. City Odyssey does not ask younger participants to create a profile or provide their name, email address or age. Younger participants should not independently submit personal information through our app or website forms.
The short version of how information associated with the adult’s account is used is:

We use account information to provide access to City Odyssey and save adventure progress.

We store information such as the adult account holder’s email address, display name, selected avatar, purchases, progress and app preferences.

We use limited technical information to keep the app secure, identify problems and improve reliability.

We do not sell personal information.

We do not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

We do not allow other users to view account information or contact the account holder through City Odyssey.

We do not collect precise or live GPS location through the app.

Optional promotional messages and reminders can be switched off.

If personal information about a child or young person is accidentally provided to us, a parent or guardian may contact us at info@gocityodyssey.com to ask us to review or delete it where appropriate.
